EDUCATIONAL STAFF
Joy Davis, Ed.D., provides outstanding experience in developing and implementing gifted education and teacher quality programs. With over 25 years as a teacher and administrator, she has worked as a building principal in Virginia and as the gifted coordinator for several city school systems. She has also worked for the Virginia Department of Education in the areas of Gifted Education and Teacher Education and Licensure.
She has extensive knowledge in grant writing and implementation. Her experience includes a Jacob Javits demonstration model grant for at-risk gifted students in fourteen Tidewater, Central Virginia, and Northern Neck school divisions. She has also successfully designed and implemented professional development, curriculum and instruction, and parent and community involvement plans for several school systems throughout Virginia. Joy received her Ed.D. from The College of William & Mary (Educational Policy Planning & Leadership, emphasis- Gifted Ed Administration).
Vanilla Lee, Ed.D., provides outstanding experience in developing and implementing family literacy education, higher education partnerships, and teacher quality programs. With over 30 years as a teacher and administrator, she has taught English at the middle, and high school levels, provided implementation leadership for a Reading First Teacher Education Network Grant, and coordinated the KCMO school district's Higher Education Partnership working with local deans and department chairs to develop and implement programs that prepare students for college. She has extensive knowledge in curriculum development, professional development, and grant writing, implementation, and evaluation.
Vanilla received her Ed.D in Educational Administration and Policy Studies from George Washington University and her M.Ed from Kansas State University in Curriculum and Instruction.
Mary Moore, M.Ed, has over 30 years of experience as a teacher and administrator, previously working in Florida, California, Alaska, Alabama, and Georgia. She has experience at the elementary, secondary and collegiate levels. She provides outstanding experience in developing and implementing instructional design models to enhance reading and writing skills. As an instructional specialist for the Georgia Department of Education, she was responsible for implementing the America's Choice/Georgia's Choice Elementary Literacy Design for Writing and Reading at both the lower and upper levels. She has also worked for Paine College, Augusta, GA as an instructor for the "Fast Track" Teacher Education Program and as a supervisor of undergraduate and "Fast Track" student teachers.
Mary received her M.Ed from Alabama State University in Elementary Education. She has extensive experience with boards and associations. She has also conducted various workships and seminars on improving reading and writing skills.
